Notes in the file:
To the doctor's office: just because someone faints or feels dizzy after a procedure does not mean you have to call an ambulance to take them to the hospital. Especially when you let some tech show them the knife and the part you cut off. They freaked out and need a few minutes to recover. Sending them to to the hospital to see a doctor and "get checked" is silly, especially since you ARE a doctor, supposedly.
To the probie: "Why did you call 911?", "What's going on today?", "What seems to be the problem?" are all good questions to start with when you walk in the door. Checking vitals and such is fine but unless you know the complaint, they aren't going to tell you much. And because no matter how many times I say it and you don't learn, I'm going to let you screw up in front of the medics who take great pleasure in insulting you when they point it out.
To the medics: Thanks, maybe they'll learn.
To the high school kids who threw a thank you dinner for the first responders who were out in Sandy: thanks. I know a lot of folks talk about "kids these days". You put them to shame. Appreciation is always appreciated.
nice
