I was playing a game of Taipei (a freebie version of mahjong) that gives fortunes when you win. 

My most recent fortune:  "Tell me what you eat, and I'll tell you what you are", as I was snacking on a spoonful of Nutella.

Free Flowers

In the very near future, I will be ripping out some plants in the yard.  I have two patches of purple irises, and a huge amount of red/orange poppies.  If anyone wants some, let me know - you can haul them away for free.  I also have a russian sage that needs to go.

Why They Call Them Blue Canaries

The fire dept is currently being dispatched for a "strong odor of gas".  The first responding officer confirmed the gas issue as "definitely a strong odor of gas coming from a storm drain".  How do you think they confirmed this?

And under the topic of Scene Safety:

The responding ambulance for standby for what is turning out to be a major gas leak arrived on scene.  The EMT asks the FD where they should stage:

• Ah chief (FD) where do you want us?
• You can stage here at engine X or over there at engine Y.
• Yeah, we'll stage over there at engine Y.
