Discriminatory

It seems that the British government is looking into the fact that having the royal succession pass through only the first-born males is discriminatory.  After doing a quick double-check on the word discriminatory, I wonder if it has occurred to anyone over there that any distinctions based on who you happen to be born to are discriminatory - anyone not born into the royal family is discriminated against. 

That could be a fun lawsuit.  I'd love to see that argued out on both sides.

Monday Morning Cryfest

I had heard about the passing of Josephine Harris last week and almost posted something about it.  Here is an article about how the fireman who carried her down the stairs also carried her casket. 

I'm always amazed by the roadside honor guards that are coordinated when a fallen soldier is transported from one location to another.  Is there some kind of official notification that goes out?  Here is a photo gallery from one in NJ.

The Edmund Fitzgerald sank 35 years ago today.

Crash

The boys and I have watched this video of the crash between Bumblebee and a real police SUV during the filming of Transformers 3.  I'm a bit surprised that the cop didn't worry about what the barricade was for when he ran it.  I'm also amazed at how quickly the film crew covered the damaged car.
