Beauty in the Micro

I needed to do something quiet and contemplative today.  It has been a tough week and overnight Thursday was brutal on the squad.  I finally went to bed at 8:30am for a couple of hours and then I headed out to a local park.  The goal was to look for beauty in the micro.  I have a new camera to play with and this was a good opportunity to focus on small and beautiful details.

Little Pond campground was full of wildflowers and critters of all kinds.

Saturday was the first day camping with the whole group together and what a breakfast we had:  4 stoves, pancakes in 3 varieties, turkey bacon, sausage, eggs and coffee.

Friday morning was very cold - 49 degrees.  After breakfast, we did a little shopping - wood and ice, plus we showed our friends the co-op.

We've been trying to simplify our camping mornings so we had cereal for breakfast.  It was a very chilly day so we started out by hiking the nature trail, which was very nice.  We liked looking at the walk-in campsites and the boys enjoyed all the wood bridges.

We just got back from a five day camping trip at Little Pond NY.  It was a great time, bracketed by rain. 

Delaware River Camping Part 2

For a Friday afternoon that was so bad, we could not have had better weather for Sat.  It did take a little while for the fog to burn off but the day was sunny, warm and had low humidity.

Delaware River Camping Part 1

We went camping last weekend, at a National Park right on the Delaware River.  The plan was to get there before the predicted thunderstorms rolled in.  That didn't work out so well.  Our arrival coincided with a smaller cell that kept us in the car for about 30 minutes before it passed.
