We have a tradition of driving around and looking at Christmas lights a few days before the actual holiday. This year I had picked up a few address off the internet, plus a few that either traditionally are worth seeing or ones I had noted in my travels.

In church crying my eyes out, watching a little boy sidle up to his estranged mother, getting closer and closer and then crawling up her like a tree until she's carrying him and he's wrapped up around her as if he could never let go - that she'd vanish forever if he did.

The other day I opened and closed my shift with a pediatric respiratory distress. Pediatric emergencies always get the heart going and us moving. I've heard it said that EMT's only run when someone is on fire. We also run when it's a pediatric.

Cutting across a parking lot on my way to the library when I was stopped by a friend. They wanted to know where I was going and I explained how I was working my way through an eighteen book series, showing her the one I was going to trade in.

I was chatting with a medic last night about the difference in calls when there is a full moon. Generally I have found that it really isn't that bad, but yes, there is a certain amount of weird.
